Viking Event on live servers starting May 6, 2025

History Event is now the Viking Event

Wheel of fortune mechanic with axes instead of knives.  You and your neighbors compete for the good prizes on the board.

Earn Viking coin through quests, incidents, daily challenges and event pass.

Use coins to spin the wheel.  Throw axes and purchase rune chests.

You can throw multiple axes.

Every time you throw an axe you get 10 points and 5 runes (formerly energy tokens).

Once all three energy bars runes are filled you can collect a reward.  You again have the ability to rebalance.  The rune you have the most of will swap with the rune you have the least of.  The cost for swaps increase with every rebalance.  It resets at midnight daily.

There are three paths to getting prizes.

1) Gain grand prize progress by throwing axes plus bonus 5 points for collecting runes from a single slot.

There are three powerful runes with a limited rune storage.  Once the storage is full you can no longer get additional prizes.

2) Use collected runes to unlock reward chests.  The first chest is free and you can use Viking coins to open the rest.

3) The rewards you instantly win from throwing axes.

We averaged a little over1410 coins between the four of us on Beta server to give you an idea of what you can expect.

  • login rewards 330
  • rush quests 450
  • daily quests 420
  • milestones 60
  • daily challenge rewards 150
  • incidents 100
  • newsletter (forgot to record the amount)

On live server they rebalanced the coins so you get less for the rush quests but more overall.  They also increased the costs of buying boxes when using runes.

Berserker building is the sucker's prize for this event.  It comes in 4 levels so in order to get it to lv4 you need the base, an upgrade, then the lv3 called berserkers precision, then finally the forth piece called berserkers wrath.  Do not chase this item unless you want a bunch of lv3 and lv4 upgrades to a base or lv2 building you don't have.

Berserkers Wrath

  • lv 4
  • 3x3 no road required
  • gives 230 - 15,000 pop
  • 25 FP
  • 20 prev age goods
  • Random Production

  • 50% 50 goods
  • 40% 25 goods next age
  • 10% 20 blueprints

Now this should be the target for players especially players in secondary worlds as this is easy to get.  While it does have 3 unique levels it also has upgrade kits that can be applied so you no longer have the bottleneck problem with the building above.  And this one is a lot better.

Target this building on the wheel.  You can also get it from the prize lines and rune reward chests.

A very solid strategy for this event is to simply open all boxes as many times as you can and not worry about the prize line at all.
You will have to acquire runes to open boxes so you will use some event currency doing that.  When you can open boxes the first one is free then it costs 200 (increased to 250 for live server) coin to open them all.  Choose that option for all your secondary worlds.  It takes almost no time and the rewards are good.

For main worlds you have options.
  1. Go for the gold league
  2. Go for the prize line
  3. open all as many times as possible

Eternal Market - Neon Horizon
It requires 1000 fragments and there are 1090 fragments available

150 grand prize lane
440 daily tasks
100 questline
400 rivals
The fragment allocation may change but if going for the Eternal Market do not play the rival quests that don't give eternal market fragments.  There are three types of rival quests.  Two of them give hero fragments and one gives eternal market fragments.  If you play all of them you will run out of event currency quickly and get none of them.

  • 6x6 no road required
  • 72 % red attack and defense GE
  • 72% blue attack and defense GbG
  • 206 red and blue attack and defense
  • 10% red and blue attack and defense QI
  • gives 2,810 - 196,850 pop
  • 396 FP
  • 480 goods your age
  • 480 prev age goods
If you wish to see how these event buildings stack-up against all the other buildings in the game our sortable building spreadsheet is updated to include all these buildings AND all the buildings in the next event (Summer Event).  You can click on the above links to view them.

Rival quests:
There are a total of 18 rival questlines that have 6 tasks with 24hrs to complete.
On Beta the Rivals were just stupid hard and after rival 13 they changed it and made it a lot easier.  It will be easy on the live server as well but we won't know the actual quests until it goes live or just slightly before.

The rival quests are designed to get you to use up event currency so you'll then have to buy more.  The easy strategy is to not play any boards (wheels) unless a rival is up and just use your event currency there.  Even then only play the rival quests that give the reward you want, not all of them.
We will not be posting the rival quests in advance for two reasons.  We were asked not to spoil them as it gave an unfair advantage to players that could set productions the day before which is reasonable.  The second reason is none of us want to waste event currency on the rivals.  We're players too and none of us want to sacrifice getting more Oarcrest Fjords by playing in a less efficient way just to burn through the rival quests.

So that means we will only be playing the wheel on days where a rival quest is up and that rival is giving eternal market fragments thus ignoring the hero fragments entirely.  And we're only spinning the wheel when Oarcrest selection kit is on it.  That may mean babysitting the wheel then spamming axes when someone refreshes the wheel and it's on there.

Every once in a while Inno Games wants to see how far they can push players to spend by balancing an event in a way where most people will not get the desired rewards.  This is such an event.

The cost to buy event currency is just stupid expensive.  Gold league on Beta averaged over 35k diamonds spent.
The main event prize has 10 base levels prior to the silver and gold upgrades and it has been moved farther down the prize line so count on a lot of people not getting it.  Now if you're in an age where fast units are good then the main event building is desirable.  Most ages fast units are not good.

The best strategy is using only event currency to get enough runes to open all boxes.
