I'm not addicted to Forge of Empires. I can quit anytime. No really I can! Just not today.
If you play the beta server you will find QI has changed. The building costs from previous QI seasons have been altered and we think you'll like the changes.
We'll post some details after there's an official announcement.
Disclaimer: This page was created long before the game launches on Beta and some of the assets have changed in both appearance and values. We will update the values to match what will be seen on Beta but will not update the assets that were captured while testing the event.
gets gold, platinum and ascended upgrade
Mad Scientist's Den Gold
Black Tower (originally 2017 Halloween event)
Random Production
Baroque Tower platinum upgrade
Random Production
Obsidian Tower ascended orange upgrade
Random Production
Eternal Market - Lunar Horizon
Historical Allies
Maharani Tarabai
Peshwa Bajirao
Avatars
To top that off the event store was such garbage that the only thing sort of worth spending currency on was the fragments for allies.
This event has a good main event building.
A good gold league building because the fragments to make the main building have value.
You can get a terrific building in the event store and the lv2 of that building makes fragments for obsidian tower upgrades.
So what's the "best" strategy? Well if you plan on doing the daily quests everyday then be prepared to buy a lot of extra tickets because it's kind of a trap. The other issue is if you do the quests to do the quests then you'll be throwing knives regardless of what's on the wheel at the time.
So the quests look like this
and the wheel can look like thisSo here's the recommended strategy.
Try to play during slow times. The less people playing in your hood the better.
If there's a good prize on the wheel then don't try to game the system by letting a hoodie spin a few times then try to snipe the good prize. Just go for it.
Be aware of the daily tasks. If it tells you to throw 3 knives at once then cue that up. If there's no good prize on the board just wait until a hoodie refreshes it. When you see a good prize then throw those 3 knives and complete the task.
So don't waste currency refreshing the board. Let your hood do that for you.
Complete daily tasks on your schedule and only when a good prize is up. It helps to do this while collecting daily as about half the tasks are easily completed while collecting.
If you do not want to buy extra currency then understand you cannot complete all daily tasks everyday. You will run out of currency. The daily tasks that require you to throw 5 knives 2 times and stuff like that are designed to burn up your event currency. If you let those tasks go then it's possible to complete all other daily tasks.
There is a luck element as well in regards to event currency gained in incidents. If you're really lucky then it will be possible to complete all tasks. Possible but not likely.
You get 2x the rewards for tasks 4-6 so focus on completing all as many times as you can. Some of it is random chance so for example if you have to collect silver twice it may take you two throws or 20. That's why it's impossible to say exactly how often you can go for 6/6 tasks so plan to do it every other day until you're about a week into the event and adjust up or down from there. You should be able to complete two tasks everyday when collecting without throwing any knives. Then once you complete one of the use event currency tasks you'll get another non-event currency task like complete 4hr productions 10 times.
So when the event starts just complete all the event tasks with your first city collection and get them out of the way. You will then have a lot of tickets to use when you need them and there's no need to use them daily or every 8hrs or anything like that.
When it comes to the event store obviously the good prize is Rattlebones Raveyard so focus on that.
The lv1 building costs 24 cat charms. The selection kit to make it a lv2 costs 40.
This event mainly gave blue QI fighters good building but red QI fighters can get the phantom abandoned asylum from the store with bat tokens.
You can also get ally fragments with bat tokens but when you see the cat tokens on the wheel do whatever you can to get them.
The most important thing to remember is to game the discount system in the shop. Only spend that currency on discounted items unless the store is about to close for good and you have to spend or lose it.
Check the shop daily and use the refresh daily then have patience if the discount is not where you want it.

This will be a WIP post and when the game feature is finalized we'll post a condensed version with the updated details.
As a WIP the information will change as it transitions from testing, to pre-beta, then beta, then live server.
Guild Conquest is the spiritual successor of GvG. GC is designed for guild collaboration and to find a use for event buildings in inventory that can benefit the entire guild.
The major components of GC:
Conquest City is separate and individual, permanent city. Players can place their buildings (event or regular construction) from your regular inventory. They will benefit the entire guild.
Each player will have to research technologies and your build menu will depend on which technologies you have unlocked.
The production of your GC cities will be stored in a treasury called "the Vault". Collective productions will be used to achieve collective goals.
Conquest cities will be very similar to the cities we have now but with special marked-off spaces for GB's.As everyone knows you were unable to collect an opal seal for about a week.
You will get 7 opal seals. Now the real question is will we ever get something good to spend these things on?
Do you enjoy seeing the shield and swords. You know you do and more importantly FoE knows you do which is why you will be seeing a lot more of it!
It's not your computer. It's not your internet service. It's not your cache settings. What is happening is you click attack and the server has to register that attack, process it, and then send information from the server to the client (your computer). So we all know how awesome this lag is especially during busy GbG seasons. The hamsters that spin the wheels that run the FoE servers just get exhausted.
Well there is now GOOD NEWS!
FoE has introduced a "zoom in, zoom out" feature that will cause you to left click furiously while holding down the R key only to find it registered zero hits. So players will be staring at what appears to be a frozen screen with the shield and swords and getting zero or if lucky a few hits.
Now why would they do this? Well they're trying to combat auto-clickers and bots. By moving the attack button slightly the bots will get the frozen screen so that's great, no problem. The issue is every freaking player that is NOT cheating will also get it.
Look GbG is annoying already. Don't give us even more reason to not play it.
Now can humans avoid that screen? Mostly yes.
Now here's the funny thing. The instructions listed above that allow players to minimize the impact of the zoom in, zoom out windows can also be used by the bots and auto-clickers. Yeah but here's the punchline. The bots and auto-clickers can do it faster. So this anti-cheat feature will actually give the bots and auto-clickers an even bigger advantage against human players.
This last part is the chef's kiss part of this post.
An algorithm will be determining if an account is using a bot or auto-clicker. This algorithm will see if the series of clicks is more probable than not cheating or human inputs. So if you hold down the "R" button and spam left click without moving your mouse it will most certainly look like an auto-clicker.
So we need people to understand this part. The timing of left-clicks in terms of delay between clicks will determine if you dear reader are a human or a bot. That's what this boils down to. Also, bots and auto-clickers can stagger delays so they don't appear to be bots can you do that?
So what they'll do is collect data over a series of weeks or months and then do a mass-suspension or ban of players they believe to be bots. It won't happen right away but when it does happen, and it will you won't know unless you're directly affected. All you will see is a player that hasn't missed a day in 3 years suddenly be absent for a week. Suspension length varies. It starts with a few hours then increases with each offense.
And keep in mind by "offense" we're talking about spamming left-click in a way an algorithm determines you are more likely than not a bot. If you try to appeal they will not even tell you what you did to get suspended or banned. They will not tell you how to avoid being banned in the future.
Now if you use bots or auto-clickers then you get no sympathy from us. But non-cheaters will get caught-up in all this. Those players have our sympathies.
GE is getting a store because of course it is.
