GB update news Aug. 28, 2025

Embargo until Aug 28, 2025 come back then Update EDIT: Great Buildings Prestige update postponed due to massive backlash from the community. No word on implementation date. We can finally talk specifics about the GB update and there's a lot to talk about. We've made comments previously that while this update is very much needed there will be a lot of upset players and now we can tell you why that is. We are going to condense the information into just what you need to know as there is a lot. The way we level the GB's are changing from infinite levelling to tiers. Copper lv 1-100 Silver lv 101-200 Gold lv 201-300 There are two more tiers not yet announced for later update. BP's Consider what we have now as copper which then upgrades to silver which then upgrades to gold. To upgrade tiers you need the corresponding BP's. So you will have copper, silver and gold BP. Halloween Event 2025 September 22 to October 13th on Beta

Disclaimer: This page was created long before the game launches on Beta and some of the assets have changed in both appearance and values. We will update the values to match what will be seen on Beta but will not update the assets that were captured while testing the event. There are a few changes from last year's event so we'll explain the changes as we go. Mechanic of spinning wheel and throwing knives. Troops value is now number of troops (of any age) divided by tiles including roads and further divided by 10. There are two reasons for this. The first is we now have a lot of buildings providing troops so we’re simply getting more of them. The second is with the new GbG changes players will have half the fights they had previously thus lowering the demand for troops. It seems they didn't realize that changing QA was an effective nerf on many event buildings players had in their cities and available in events now. So instead of changing the characteristic of many event items to un-nerf them it was just easier to revert the QA system to what it was before. You know since there was no real reason to change it other than some fail-hard who doesn't play the game thought it would be a good idea because big number=better or something like that. After a long wait we can finally lift the embargo and publish the new QI! Just so you know this is not the last change but maybe the last change this year with another major change to follow. Forge of Empires has introduced a new lag feature into the game. Just what everyone has asked for.

Do you enjoy seeing the shield and swords. You know you do and more importantly FoE knows you do which is why you will be seeing a lot more of it! It's not your computer. It's not your internet service. It's not your cache settings. What is happening is you click attack and the server has to register that attack, process it, and then send information from the server to the client (your computer). So we all know how awesome this lag is especially during busy GbG seasons. The hamsters that spin the wheels that run the FoE servers just get exhausted. Well there is now GOOD NEWS! FoE has introduced a "zoom in, zoom out" feature that will cause you to left click furiously while holding down the R key only to find it registered zero hits. So players will be staring at what appears to be a frozen screen with the shield and swords and getting zero or if lucky a few hits. Now why would they do this? Higher Age Units the easy guide

There are plenty of guides out there and most are good. Some are hard to follow and there are a few that are flat-out wrong. I'm putting this out because despite all the guides available (including one already on this blog) people still ask how to do it and there is a need for a hand-holding version. That's not a pejorative it's just the reality that there is a need for a simple and accurate guide. Getting troops of a higher age involves pushing the campaign map in a very specific way. Negotiate some sectors, fight others and completely ignore some. The other aspect is the tech tree. Deciding to go for higher age troops means you will leave certain techs unresearched because you will need them later. Lastly, the third leg of this adventure is working the story quests and side-quests correctly so you do not get blocked. If you mess up any of these three legs it may be somewhat correctable by forgoing some advanced age troops or by moving to the n...
