Anniversary Event's New Rival System *** updated with Inno's response at the bottom

We at FoE addicts are giving the middle finger to the new blatant pay-to-win (PTW) rivals system. Starting on day three of this event there has been a new rival questline. We have gone from two or three rivals per event to now a daily system. All of them had six quests to reach two milestone rewards and then two additional quests for additional prizes. In order to get the full upgrade of the eternal market that means doing all the rivals to at least quest six for this event. To let you all in behind the scenes a bit we have three people that regularly contribute to this site and a fourth that helps maintain the site when there are technical issues. All of us play the game and we range from casual to hard core so that brings-in some different perspectives. Anniversary Event 2025

Embargo until Feb 16, 2025 For the 13th Anniversary the merge mechanic is back. We'll go over the broad strokes as this is a well-known mechanic at this point. Gems: The board is filled with gems locked behind glass and a free gem that can be moved. You can match the free gem with a locked gem of the same color and level. You can create more free gems by using the spawner button. It takes event currency "energy" to spawn a moveable gem. Once you match a gem it breaks the glass and levels up. (You can also match free gems to level up and free higher level gems behind glass.) Unlocking gems advance the prize bar. Locked gems have a key part. There are only two variables. If you match gems with complementary key parts (color, level and type all match) it creates a full key. Feed the keys into the converter. The higher level gems provide more keys. Viking Event on Beta

History Event is now the Viking Event Wheel of fortune mechanic with axes instead of knives. You and your neighbors compete for the good prizes on the board. Earn Viking coin through quests, incidents, daily challenges and event pass. Use coins to spin the wheel. Throw axes and purchase rune chests. You can throw multiple axes. Every time you throw an axe you get 10 points and 5 runes (formerly energy tokens). Once all three energy bars runes are filled you can collect a reward. You again have the ability to rebalance. The rune you have the most of will swap with the rune you have the least of. The cost for swaps increase with every rebalance. It resets at midnight daily. There are two paths to getting prizes. Gain grand prize progress by throwing axes plus bonus 5 points for collecting runes from a single slot. There are three powerful runes with a limited rune storage. GE Trials starting on live server March 4, 2025 Short version

This information is from Beta server and the system has already had one major overhaul. To see what it looked like click here . Then how it changed here and now we have what's on live server. The entire system has been rebalanced to become a lot easier. The rewards seem unfinished. For example a few of us have gotten trash prizes after the 79th encounter. Nothing like winning four more attempts when you only have one more encounter to finish. It just seems like this isn't well thought-out and I expect a lot to change in the weeks to come. I'll get to the things people want to know first and feel free to read further if you wish. The diamond rewards have been nerfed to about 2/3rds of what it used to be. The gold upgrades to the buildings below may take 40-50 weeks and by that time with power creep it may no longer be good. Guild Expedition Trials is finally here. It starts on Beta Server on Jan 28, 2025

If you've been reading this site over the last two years or Crash Cart's old blog before we took it over we've been talking about GE changes for years and it's finally here. Well the first part is anyways there's more to come. To make it easy what used to be known as levels will now be called trials. Expect to see trials/levels mixed interchangeably for a while as we get used to it. The first thing you do as a player is select your difficulty level. Easier, same as we have now or harder. The harder it is the better prizes. Once you select the difficulty level then you cannot change it until the next GE. Are we really going to call this GET? So once you lock-in that week you can't change. That may mean you select the easy one when a rival quest is on especially if there are a lot of negotiations. The first three levels/trials will be unlocked for all players and have to be completed before opening further levels. Ri...

We have asked players in our guilds to report diamonds received, what encounter they received it and what Trial difficulty they were on. Inno please fix giving 4 attempts at encounter 79. Crazy idea but maybe pay diamonds instead? Sortable spreadsheet with all event buildings including the Winter Event 2024 and Wildlife Event 2025

Link for spreadsheet Changes for this version is the inclusion of Winter Event 2024 and the buildings currently in Beta for the Wildlife Event 2025 We've also added a column for Historic Allies. Right now it's just a "y" for yes it houses a historical ally. It's a placeholder for people to quickly find the buildings that house a historical ally. We're thinking of just averaging out the bonus stats for allies and adding that to the building that stores them as that's the point of those buildings. Right now the value has not been changed to include the ally bonus but future spreadsheets will include that. We've also reduced the "value" of goods to a ratio of 10:1 of goods:FP. The reason for this is the introduction of event buildings that produce 100's of goods so they're no longer scarce even in SAT or SASH ages.
