GB's update may make major changes before going to live server

Ok so we like to give the player base a head's up on what is going to happen.  We're just players.  We love and hate this game probably like a lot of you.  We're not on the payroll and have no obligation to sugar coat things in fear of losing a sponsorship.  Always be wary of any source that is.

We don't break embargo and we protect our sources because retaliation is real so there are times where we hold back information that might be good for the player base to have in advance.  I say all that because when talking about the GB update you need to know why we're at the place we are now with GB's.

Yet another small update on the new GB changes

Not a big update just a FYI.  The folks at Inno were very surprised that people on beta unlocked 400 levels and completely bypassed the new levelling system.  Who could have possibly seen this coming?

They're also taking a look at both the cost to open levels and the cost of FP to level.  We're not done yet.

Results of the GB changes

Edit: For anyone upset that this site was down for a period of time today we apologize.  This post alone has had just under 17k visitors in the first 12 hours and blogger is not set-up for that.  We were also notified that if we want to keep this blog they will start putting ads on it.  Thank you for using this site as one of your resources.  We're not asking anyone to click on an ad when they eventually come.  Just enjoy the site as you were before.  Again sorry for the downtime it should be resolved now.

So the GB changes have gone live on Beta.

If you play on the app you will eventually see it but the app is currently broken so go to browser.  On browser you will get a lot of

Update to the GB update coming to Beta March 9, 2026

If you have not read the original post click this link and read it first.  This post is an update to some of the questions we had and will be a condensed too long didn't read type of explanation of the new GB system.

So off the top this is a huge caveat.  There is some scrambling behind the scenes about what to do with GB's that are on the upgrade list and either unlocked to level 400 or actually upgraded to level 400.  This system was designed to slow GB levelling and offer players long-term goals with steep costs and FP/goods sinks to fix the game economy.  Right now there is a HUGE exploit.  They know about it.  We've talked directly to them and asked specifics about it.  To be honest it's disappointing how discombobulated and poorly planned this roll-out is.  They asked we not publish the exploit when we got the final packet containing all the upgrades to GB's but it's out there so we're going to talk about it.

Update:  As of noon Saturday March 7 there are no changes to the plan.  Get those GB's to lv 400 if they're getting tiers and 200 if they're not.

So for people on live server

Great Buildings change embargo has lifted

The long wait has been painful but we go the got ahead to publish so here it is.

We've laid this out as if you were not familiar with the previous changes that were pulled after the fan base revolted so this is geared towards a brand new player with no previous knowledge of what happened.

Their will be Prestige Tiers for GB's

When you level a GB the effect (boost, output whatever) increases until a set cap is reached.  So lv 100 for SASH GB's, lv 180 for Arc etc.

With the introduction of tiers players can

Anniversary Event 2026 on Beta server March 3-24, 2026

Delayed for balancing changes.  You can see the edit below to the world fair buildings.  Announcement coming shortly.  Should be on Beta March 3.  Still pending more changes.

To see our WIP post during the testing you can see it here.  And another post here as it was nearing launch on Beta.  You can see how much it's changed in just a short period of time.

We will probably just copy/paste it here anyways because we're lazy and the information is accurate but not in a pretty format.

Note the event store is more complicated than previous events.  We will wait until it goes live on Beta where we can capture more images as it's easier to show than to explain.

It now includes the new GbG buildings and the Anniversary Event buildings that will be on Beta next week.

We're working on ways to make the master spreadsheet better and are looking for user input.

Site updates

We're going to be updating the master spreadsheet "value" and would like your feedback.

While value is subjective we are still trying to objectively apply values to all boosts so players can rate a building by what it provides on a per square return.

We look at buildings as belonging to one of three categories.

1) Quality of life

2) Specific need

3) return per square

FoE forums

We were sent some copy/paste items from the FoE forums.  We don't use the forums or the discord so this was new to us.  Essentially the person who wrote to us was asking if the FoE team was lying to them on the forums.

The above is the official statement for the person who was at the time the go to community manager.

The below was a response to that.

None of us will be heading over to the official forums to partake in this controversy.  I believe you have to register to participate and we favor anonymity so people can just be honest.

We're removing the ability to contact us via email but for a good reason.

We added the ability to contact us via a widget on this blog months ago and many of you lovely people took the time to send mail.  Some were questions, some were compliments, some were insults but none of them could be replied to.  So no thank you for compliments/insults and no way to answer the questions which were the majority of the mails we received.

Great Buildings changes not here yet but will be soon

 So some quick background.

For those not familiar with the planned "Guild Conquest" mechanic that was supposed to be introduced in Q3 2025 and you can read about it here and here.  That game mechanic was "paused" until at least 2027 for good reason and we should all be thankful for that.  The problem is Inno wanted to make GB's great again and a large part of how that was going to happen involved the introduction of Guild Conquests and GB's that provided bonus or effects for that mechanic.

The GB's and reward/quest system of the new age also relied on the GB update to be in place at launch so that was delayed as well.

Guild Conquest -- GB update -- New age mismanagement are all linked.

So once Guild Conquest was officially taken off the table the GB upgrade was going to proceed.

You can read about what it was going to be here.  The reason we don't have it is because of the huge backlash from the community.  That backlash stemmed from how they planned to handle the bronze/tier one level of the new tier system.

St Patrick's Day Event 2026 for live server

Starts Feb 17 runs through to March 17, 2026

The duration of this event changes things.  On Beta there were only 21 daily tasks where live server will have 28.

The event currency management will also be different.

You get 14,450 pots of gold (event currency) if you login daily and complete all the challenges.  You can expect 250-500 more from incidents.  So expect slightly less than 15k pots of gold without buying more.

It's best to decide on strategy prior to event start.

St. Patrick's Day Event post for live server delayed

We've delayed posting of the event for live server for a few reasons.  To be clear the event is not delayed.  If anyone has played the event on beta you know it was a mess.  At one point the quests just stopped.  The balancing was messed up.  Changes were early in the event..

  • Added an additional slot with Druid Hut Selection Kit with a price of 8 Fortune Coins.
  • Lowered the price of Ascended Blueberry Field from 20 to 10 Fortune Coins.
  • Lowered the price of Ascended Blueberry Field Upgrade Kit from 40 to 8 Fortune Coins.
  • Lowered the price of Ascended Whispering Well from 40 to 10 Fortune Coins.
  • Lowered the price of Ascended Whispering Well Upgrade Kit from 80 to 8 Fortune Coins.

Then more changes half-way through the event....

Anniversary Event 2026 WIP

Event is a copy/paste of previous merge events with some tiny adjustments in testing.  We'll post more when rewards are confirmed and embargo lifted.

World's Fair is getting a silver, gold and platinum upgrade. Changed to a world event building

Ascended also appears to be world's fair but since it was just placeholder asset in testing we'll just say it's not confirmed at this point.

Inno is showing what they think of their player base.

Let me show you what prompted this post.

Now if you happen to be in Iron Age there's no problem but for literally every other age this is a huge F-you to the player base.

It's bad enough that they already ask for goods production from previous age.  It's even worse when they ask for troop production of a previous age but now production?  Seriously go F-yourself.

So a player in SASH will have to do 24hr productions 26 time of a previous age production building.  Get bent.

St Patrick's Day Event on Beta Server starting Jan 13, 2026

We started posting information about this event last October.  Here is the link if you want to see it or how things have changed from the WIP/Alpha testing to Beta.  There were not a lot of changes but every change was to decrease the rewards.

This event mechanic is now so well known that it hardly seems worth discussing so we won't and we'll go right to strategy.

Before the event starts you need to decide which strategy you will choose.  Do you want to open all the boxes when completing a town or festival or whatever they're calling it this time OR do you want to complete as many tasks as possible and go for gold league?

If you want to advance the prize line and go for gold league then be prepared to complete 23-28 festivals (I will probably call it towns a number of times and won't bother changing it.)

You should also be prepared to spend a lot of diamonds as this has historically been a high spending event.  So buy extra event currency, hire lv5 managers, set timers and sweat out the next three weeks going for gold.

We do not endorse this strategy at all Look at the rewards and decide for yourself what is good.  We have them ranked here and in the master spreadsheet.

In our view the rewards are.....fine.  Not good, not garbage just ok.  Anything under a 40 on the value table would be ok but next up to be replaced.  Even the gold league building is underwhelming and made worse by making fragments for a main building that's just OK and not worth chasing.

What do we recommend?  Well if your city population can handle it I'd say get one (and only one) ascended fortunate celtic goldsmith and three lv 2 McDough's Loaf House.  Play the event casually.  Don't spend any diamonds.  Don't set alarms.  Don't wake up in the middle of the night to complete your town to start the next.  Let other people sweat out the event.

This event should be a mix of open all boxes six times and picking your spots to advance the prize line so I'd suggest this.

Open all boxes after the tutorial town and the next four towns.  Just put your managers on lv1 and let it take 3 days to complete.  Then on day 13 you'll have five Loaf House and only need one more which you will get on the last day of the event.  Now you can play the last week of the event knowing you only need enough event currency for that last box.

Why aren't we high on the main event building?  For people that are hardcore GbG players they will like the main building and really like this event.  We value niche fight bonuses less than just general bonuses.  So giving someone red GE attack or blue GbG attack has less value than just a boost to red or blue attack that can be applied in every mechanic outside QI.

The druid temple upgrades with all due respect to the people who really need a tiny blue QI fight boost is just garbage.  Players will be far better-off getting the side building and ascending them.  Speaking of which the store is really where this event is worth playing even if only casually.  In the store you can get some side building upgrades and hero fragments if you need them.  You can also get some platinum upgrades of other buildings which are far better than the druid temple.  I'd be very surprised if the druid temples aren't given a boost before it goes to live server.

Rewards:
Let's start with the older buildings getting a makeover.
Druid temple goes to lv10
Forgotten Druid temple is the silver upgrade lv 11
Lost Druid Temple is the golden upgrade lv 12

Forgotten Druid Temple
  • lv 11
  • 5x4 requires road
  • 32,000 population
  • 45% red defense
  • 10% blue attack QI
  • 324,400 coins
  • 60 goods
Random Production

  • 40% 30 goods
  • 15% 142,506 medals
  • 5% 2,041,250 supplies

The other older building getting an upgrade is the Celtic Goldsmith.
Celtic Goldsmith has 9 base levels.  Lv 9 makes the silver upgrade

Fabled Celtic Goldsmith Golden lv 11

New

Fortunate Celtic Goldsmith
  • lv 12
  • 4x5 no road required
  • houses military ally
  • 66,170 population

Ascended Fortunate Celtic Goldsmith

  • 3 fragments of whispering fields selection kit (need 100)

Random production

  • 70 % 174 FP
  • 25 % 196 FP
  • 5 % 284 FP

In order to keep this building ascended you need end of town/festival reward chests which you get by opening all boxes.

Main event prize:

Lochan Lune lv 8 gives fragments for silver upgrade

Mystic Lochan Lune lv9 is the silver which makes fragments for the gold upgrade

Fabled Lochan Lune

  • lv 10
  • 5x5 requires road
  • houses military ally
  • 50,000 population
  • 260 % red attack GbG
  • 390 % blue attack GbG
  • 440,000 supplies
  • 220 FP
  • 280 Goods
  • 230 Goods previous age
  • 3 fragments of monumental crafts selection kit (need 100)

Monumental Crafts selection kit gives option

  • Moorehead's Hatsmith (spelling errors have made it to Beta)
  • Ogham Stones

Moorehead's Hatsmith

  • lv 1
  • 2x3 no road required
  • costs 30,000 population
  • 50% red attack and defense GbG
  • 75% red attack and defense GE

  • 30 days
  • costs -30,000 population
  • 24 % red attack QI
  • 100 % red attack and defense GbG
  • 150 % red attack and defense GE
  • 3 % coin boost QI
  • 4 % supply boost QI
  • 5 units QI
  • 240,000 coins
  • 85 goods
  • 65 goods of prev age

Ogham Stones

  • lv 1
  • 2x2 no road required
  • costs 20,000 population
  • 25% red attack
  • 60% red defense GbG
  • 83,000 coins
  • 40 FP
  • 40 prev age goods

Ascended Ogham Stones

  • 2x2 no road required
  • lv 2 ascended 30 days
  • -20,000 population
  • 50 % red attack
  • 120 % red defense GbG
  • 20 % blue attack QI
  • 10,500 coins QI at start
  • 20,000 supplies QI at start
  • 5 goods QI at start
  • 100,000 coins

Open all boxes building

McDough's Loaf House

  • lv 1
  • 3x3 no road required
  • costs 45,000 population
  • 61% red and blue attack and defense
  • 75 FP
  • 2 fragments of finish special production

McDough's Loaf House

  • lv 2
  • 3x3 no road required
  • -45,000 population
  • 60 % red defense
  • 74 % red and blue attack and defense
  • 105 % FP

Random Production

  • 70 % 8 fragments of finish special production (need 30)
  • 30 % 10 fragments of Ascended Fortunate Celtic Goldsmith upgrade kit (need 1000)

This building averages 3 fragments a day.

You need 11.11111 per day to have an ascended fortunate goldmith perpetually.

So in order to have one perpetually you will need three level 2 McDough's Loaf Houses and hit it with BG a few times or get four of them which seems the most logical as you probably have better things to use BG charges on.

Also the population cost may prevent players from placing it at all.
